The Brief

To produce a dynamic, stylised, emotive video for University of Portsmouth that will enthuse and excite the 16 – 18 year old market of prospective students into becoming the scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians of the future.

The answer

The film’s number one priority was to inspire young people at school age who wouldn’t normally consider a science degree, therefore we had to challenge preconceptions and stereotypes by showing the reality of the young, dynamic and sociable students residing at the University of Portsmouth, excelling in subjects that had a greater chance of employment upon graduation and more importantly, potential to shape the world.  

Showcasing the University’s modern, high-tech research facilities against the city’s historic backdrop, Omni created an inspiring, naturalistic and friendly film that highlighted the student experience within the wealth of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects on offer, including amongst many others: Health Sciences, Design, Forensics, Sports Technology, Bio Science and Dental care. 

The final product will be distributed by DVD and via the University Website to promote the STEM faculties.
